Three Bolted Steel Tanks in 28 Days for Latin America's Largest Data Center

Tech Tank supplied from England and assembled three high-performance bolted steel tanks at Google's largest data center in Latin America, located in Canelones (Uruguay), in a record 28 days. The project combined global-standard engineering, an in-house assembly crew and synchronized electromechanical jacking technology.

In the data center world, the watchword is reliability. When the client is Google and the project is its largest data center in Latin America, the demands for safety, quality and on-time delivery reach their peak. We are proud to share the details of another milestone in our track record.

The challenge: cutting-edge engineering against the clock

Critical infrastructure like data centers needs ultra-reliable water storage systems — both for cooling (chillers) and for firefighting. For this project, Tech Tank brought world-class technology to the table:

  • International origin: equipment engineered and manufactured in England, meeting the most demanding certifications and quality standards on the global market.
  • Premium material: bolted steel tanks, offering superior corrosion resistance, structural flexibility and an unmatched service life.
  • Critical timeline: modern engineering demands speed without giving an inch on safety.

28 days: an in-house crew and next-generation tooling

Assembling three large-scale structures inside a highly controlled, complex worksite demands perfect synchronization. Tech Tank completed the challenge in just 28 days, built on two pillars:

1. A specialized in-house crew

We don't outsource our quality. Assembly was carried out by our own team of specialist engineers and technicians, accustomed to technical rigor, industrial safety standards and strict schedule compliance.

2. Jack-based assembly technology

We use our own next-generation machinery and tools, led by our jacks (synchronized electromechanical lifting systems). This method builds the tank from the top down — lean and safe — drastically reducing work at height and optimizing load-handling time.

The result

A delivery defined by professionalism, technical precision and efficiency, cementing Tech Tank as a strategic reference in water-storage solutions for the technology and critical-infrastructure sector across Latin America.

We thank Google for their trust and congratulate the entire Tech Tank team that turned this project into an international success story. Explore more of our projects.

Frequently asked questions

What are bolted steel tanks?

They are modular reservoirs built from steel panels bolted together on site. They offer high corrosion resistance, fast assembly and a long service life — ideal for industrial water storage, firefighting and cooling systems.

What are they used for in a data center?

Mainly two critical systems: water for the cooling systems (chillers) that keep servers at temperature, and reserves for firefighting.

How long did it take to assemble the three tanks?

28 days, using Tech Tank's in-house crew and synchronized electromechanical jacking technology.
